Hengao means “strange face” or “funny face” in Japanese. There’s a new version of Bijyo Cocktail out that has a special hengao feature…
Almost all the purikura machines use stretching technology these days, it’s how we get big eyes, small faces and long long legs.
Bijyo Cocktail has released an updated version called Bijyo Cocktail 2 . Mostly it’s frame and stamp updates but they have also added a bonus shot after you take your regular shots.
It caught me off-guard so I didn’t get a picture of the screen but you get three options. An “oshare” (stylish) shot which means retro filters, a hengao shot like above or hengao profiles, which means you take individual funny face pictures.
We tried the two shot one, it stretches on the screen so you can adjust your position before you take the picture. Afterwards you can decorate it from a special menu, I think it was the first thing that popped up on the decorating screen. It doesn’t get printed out on your stickers so you only get it digitally.
Here are some other examples I found:
Of course if you want to, or you are not careful you can get almost the same effect if you put your face in the leg space of some full-length machines! Here’s my friend in Oh My Girl:
And some traditional ‘hengao’ purikura!
What do you think? Cute or weird?
lol. i was wondering when you would put that picture up... :p
ReplyDeleteinteresting that they have an actual feature for it now!
would you believe thati have not taken purikura in ages??! this is what i get for moving away from you... lol.
I was saving it for the opportune moment!
DeleteI know! I didn't take purikura AT ALL in April ><
I think it would be fun to try. Although most machines already make me look freakish by giving me super large eyes.... I alerady have big eyes. LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think I would like it every time but it's fun every now and again!
