Birthday Purikura

It was my birthday at the end of March so I got free purikura at my local game centre!

I assume that all Taito stations have this but the poster was very clearly displayed so if you’re near a Taito and it’s your birthday it’s worth checking!

I had to give my name and show ID to the staff member and he wrote my name and birthday in the book to make sure you only get free purikura once.

Then he said that to get the free purikura we had to have our picture taken for the display board. They used an instant camera and asked us to decorate it with special markers.

We could choose our machine so I chose Girl’s Photographer because it has a specific birthday course that I wanted to try.

It has special birthday backgrounds and birthday stamps that I think you can only get on this course. Also when you enter names it asks for the birthday person’s name and date of birth. You don’t have to enter the year if you don’t want!

This background automatically had the birthday message with my name on it…

This one had ‘Happy Birthday’ and the cake already on it.

And the stamps…

Here the heart was already on…

The collages were the same as the usual course, which was a little disappointing but it’s nice to have a special course that you only take once a year!

Most machines have at least one birthday stamp, and that combined with date stamps is enough really. And if all else fails you can use the pens to draw cake or presents.

Last year I took BF Manual and it had a feature where you put the date and year (if you want to) and it created birthday stamps. One of them even said how many DAYS old you were. Forgive me for not showing you but that one’s a secret!

Here’s some other birthday purikura inspiration for you!

  1. Very cute! It's amazing how much purikura has changed in the few (*gasp* 5!) years since I've been away... Really want to take it again :)
