No Print Purikura and Winner!

I found out some interesting news in purikura recently, and it’s time to announce the winner of the giveaway!

Rumor is a new machine with a new kind of angle so I was looking forward to trying it. At my local game centre if you use the machine and ask at the counter the staff will give you a promo magazine.

We all know about the earthquake and tsunami in northern Japan last March. The region is still struggling to find its feet but the people there are carrying on as best they can. One of the purikura companies, Make Software, who make Bambi-Na, Essence and Me Her Jyoshi decided to try and bring smiles to the young people in affected areas.

Lady By Tokyo

The machine hasn't come to my city yet but I was in Tokyo at the weekend and got a chance to try Lady By Tokyo.

The things that stuck in my head about it were:

・It only had options for close up pictures.

・No patterned backgrounds or frames, you take the pictures then choose the colours.

・All black inside the booth.

・Less stamps (maybe?) I think less cutesy ones for sure.

News! Lady By Tokyo - Purikura for grown ups?

This announcement popped up on my twitter, and I haven't been announcing all the new machines (as there are far too many at the moment!) but this one caught my eye because the follow-up tweet said it was their first machine featuring a foreign model.

In the new Popsister there's a two-page advert for the newest machine from IMS (They did the Kiss Kiss machine used in my tutorials). Kiss Kiss prints really nicely so I'm looking forward to trying the new machine!

NEWS ~BF Manual 2

I just bought the new issue of Popsister, May 2011 (It's still March!!). Masuwaka Tsubasa has a section where she has photos of what she has been up to and this month there's a pic of her doing shots for the new BF Manual2 machine!



She said that it was fun because her husband Umeshan and their son were there too. Presumably Umeda Naoki will feature in the new machine too.

Popsister and Essence giveaway!

In the newest issue of Popsister there's a giveaway of beauty products and clothes sponsored by the new Essence machine.

The prizes aren't really purikura related, I guess just in the "beauty" sense! It also looks like you can only enter via QR code which, despite apps that promise otherwise, I haven't Bern able to get to work on the iPhone. I wait patiently.

I'm in Tokyo at the moment and spotted that a new machine was on a location test in the game centre we went to in Shinjuku. This means that it's not available all over the country yet so I'll do a proper review when it is.
