Purikura Review: Fotoroom

This is a new machine with seats! Perfect if you feel a bit tired, it also has an ice-cream campaign at the moment. But what about the rest?

I made some videos about taking purikura for those who like video more than photos. I’m hoping to make a series of how to and tips videos.

Review: How to 45°

I’m not sure how the company is pronouncing this (How to forty-five degrees or How To Yonjugodo) but I’m just going to call it ‘How to’ for now!

Hengao Purikura

Hengao means “strange face” or “funny face” in Japanese. There’s a new version of Bijyo Cocktail out that has a special hengao feature…

Review: La Femme

I think this is the first time there’s been a boy on the blog, and the fact that machine is called La Femme is a total accident… I swear.

Choosing a Purikura Machine by Picture Size

Purikura machines divided into size categories to help you choose your machine. Do you want full-length? Square? Separate shots? Collages? This was a request from a little while ago. Smile

Review: Bijou Cocktail

I’m back home from my trip home. That’s what happens when you’re an ex-pat! Anyway, I took these pictures before I went but I have to apologise as I wasn’t using my regular camera so some of the pictures are blurred. Hopefully you can still get a feel for the machine regardless!

Well, purikura already is a printing service but now Make has collaborated with 7-11 so you can print photo-sized versions of your purikura…

Review: Viva Jyoshi

Took pictures for this review a while ago but wasn’t inspired to write about this machine and then forgot I’d taken the pictures. It’s not bad, just nothing special… but let’s take a look anyway.

History of Purikura

Ever wondered about the history of purikura? The English wiki has very little information so I had a look at some Japanese sites.

Purikura Videos: Bambi-na3

I signed up for a YouTube channel ages ago but just decided to try it out. I want to make decent review videos and how-to tutorials but for now these are sort of a test run and a look at the new software update for Bambi-na3.

Review: MeroMero

This is the machine released after Me Her Jyoshi and uses Essence’s special ‘platinum sheet’. (Kinda shiny/pearly printouts. MeroMero is メロメロ in Japanese which they have tweaked to be xoxo in the logo…

Review: Cube3

This is a cute machine I found at a game centre I don’t usually go to.  It’s name comes from CUte and BEauty, I like the design of the outside of this one with it’s square theme.

English Names

I met my friend who is more fluent in Japanese than I am over the winter break and discovered that on some machines you CAN change your English name for the label stamps!

Getting Purikura to an iPhone: Make

I’ll do this by company, not all machines by the companies work with the iPhone, even the new machines so be careful! They also keep changing their systems which is why I’ve been avoiding starting this.

I don’t think there’s a way to get purikura to overseas iPhones. They are just like computers and computers so far cannot receive purikura. So this is for Softbank iPhone users in Japan. If the situation changes I’ll update.

First up is Make Software…

Review: Me Her Jyoshi

Lots of pics because for the first time we decided to do the machine twice to try out both courses!
This is a machine with a bit of a grown-up/blogger style on one of the courses with the other being more like regular cute purikura.
